Production process for welded stainless steel pipes, stainless steel welded pipe – stainless steel pipe
06 Aug,2020
Welding stainless steel pipes They are classified into ordinary carbon steel pipes, high‑quality carbon structural steel pipes, alloy structural steel pipes, alloy steel pipes, bearing steel pipes, stainless steel pipes, and bimetallic composite pipes, as well as electroplated and coated pipes, to conserve precious metals and meet specific requirements. Stainless steel pipes come in many types, each with different applications, technical specifications, and manufacturing processes. The steel pipes currently in production feature… 0.1-4500mm the outer diameter range and 0.01-250mm the wall thickness range. To distinguish their characteristics, steel pipes are typically classified into the following categories.
Precision Steel Pipe Recommendations Production process for welding stainless steel pipes
Production method: Stainless steel pipes are classified by manufacturing method into seamless pipes and welded pipes. Seamless steel pipes can be further divided into hot‑rolled, cold‑rolled, cold‑drawn, and extruded types. Cold‑drawn and cold‑rolled pipes represent secondary processing of steel pipe. Stainless steel welded pipes are categorized into straight‑seam welded pipes and spiral‑welded pipes.
Cross-sectional shape: Welded stainless steel pipes can be classified according to their cross-sectional shapes into circular pipes and special‑shaped pipes. Special‑shaped pipes include rectangular, diamond‑shaped, elliptical, hexagonal, octagonal, and various asymmetric‑section pipes. These specialized profiles are widely used in structural components, tools, and machine parts. Compared with circular pipes, special‑shaped pipes typically exhibit larger moments of inertia and section moduli, as well as greater resistance to bending and torsion, thereby significantly reducing structural weight and saving steel.

Based on the shape of their longitudinal cross-section, welded stainless steel pipes can be classified into constant‑section pipes and variable‑section pipes. Variable‑section pipes include tapered pipes, stepped pipes, and pipes with periodic cross‑sections.
Pipe end shape: Welded stainless steel pipes can be classified, according to the condition of the pipe ends, into bright‑finished pipes and threaded pipes (threaded steel pipes). Threaded pipes are further divided into standard threaded pipes—used for conveying water, gas, and other low‑pressure fluids, connected via ordinary cylindrical or tapered threads—and special threaded pipes—intended for oil‑field and geological drilling applications. For critical threaded connections, special thread‑to‑thread joints should be employed. In certain specialized cases, to mitigate the reduction in end‑strength caused by threading, the pipe ends are typically reinforced prior to threading—either internally, externally, or both internally and externally.
