1 When lifting stainless steel materials, direct contact with other metals must be avoided; non‑metallic materials such as wood or rubber sheets should be used as spacers.

2 During the cutting of scaffolding tubes, ordinary abrasive wheels must not be used; instead, stainless steel–specific abrasive wheels or plasma cutting should be employed.

3 During tack welding of stainless steel pipes and scaffolding tubes, the inner side of the weld shall be protected by argon purging.

4 Arc initiation and termination: arc initiation is performed using the back‑welding method. Arc initiation The arc crater shall be filled. Arc striking must be performed within the groove; arc striking and arc starting on the base metal surface of pipes and pipe fittings are prohibited. If defects such as porosity or cracks are detected at the arc‑striking or arc‑closing locations, they shall be promptly removed.

5 For stainless steel pipes and fittings, as well as for joints between stainless steel pipes/fittings and non‑stainless steel pipes or scaffolding tubes, the root pass of the welded butt joint must be performed with argon shielding inside the pipe and within the cavity before welding can proceed using gas tungsten arc welding.

6 The arc-starting and arc-stopping points of multi-pass, multi-layer welding shall be staggered.

7 When continuously welding stainless steel scaffold tubes, the interpass temperature shall not exceed 60°C.

8 The welds at the pipe‑to‑pipe joints shall be pickled and passivated after welding.

9 The hydrostatic test of stainless steel fittings has specific requirements for water temperature and water quality: the water temperature must not be lower than 5°C, and the chloride ion content in the water must not exceed 25 ppm.
